Records, 1950-1984.

History: Records of a sportsman's club in northwestern Dunn County, Wis., including the townships of Boyceville, Wheeler, Connorsville, and Ridgeland. The purpose of the club was to improve hunting and fishing, as well as general conservation practices in the area, and to foster tolerance between landowners and sportsmen. The records provide a thorough account of the club's environmental conservation efforts, detailing their goals and accomplishments and their dealings with town, county, and state agencies. Description: The collection consists of two parts: eight spiral themebooks of meeting minutes (in chronological order in boxes 1 and 2) and three folders of conservation contest entry materials (in box 1). The General and Executive Board's meeting minutes for 1950-1984 contain information regarding the projects, plans, expenses, and member rolls of the club. The records relating to the Wisconsin Conservation Congress Awards Program include score sheets and verification information (newsclippings, photographs, samples of newsletters, membership buttons and cards, etc.) for 1958-1962. The Congress gave regional awards for "Outstanding Conservation Club" which the Northwest Rod and Gun Club won in 1957, 1960, and 1961.
